With a stunning view of Guarujá Bay, in the Península condominium, this residence was designed in 1988 by architect Marc Rubin (Botti Rubin). The building develops vertically along a steep slope, distributing its four floors in a staggered fashion: the garage on the first level, the caretaker's house on the second, the bedrooms on the third, and the social area on the fourth. The new owner entrusted us with the challenge of carrying out a complete retrofit and designing an expansion: a new upper floor to house the master suite. To make this feasible, we proposed a lightweight glued laminated timber (GLT) structure supported directly on the pre-existing concrete base—the same construction system adopted in the renovation of the gourmet area.
